DESIGN:

This captivating print is a blend of the classic and the fanciful, using art spanning across centuries. Two stunning 18th century ink-on-silk hanging scrolls from Japan painted with wild plum blossoms, peach trees, magpies, and a luminous moon are layered with other whimsical elements including illustrations of wild deer, birds, and cranes. The trim comes from French silk embroidery fragments from the early 1800s, and the floral geometric pattern is a replica of block-printed French paper from the same era.
